Hi Decani, you seem to have a "shortfall" of £261.30 every month. If you cut out all on the entertainment section and do the gardening and cleaning yourself, that saves you £310.92 each month:) So you have £49.62 "spare". Have a look on the comparison websites to see if you can get a better deal on your gas and electric, and maybe go down a couple of tariffs on your mobile? Take a packed lunch to work, cheaper than sanwiches;)0

What you are allowing on your entertainment budget is rather large - can you do entertaining at home rather than going out? If you are cooking a meal ask your guests to bring around a course for the meal and some wine.

Regarding the comments made by Jo Rourke in pink:

Yes, my insurance is combined to cover contents and buildings.
I will try meal planning as that sounds a good idea I rarely buy ready made meals or take aways these days). I will also buying some shopping in Lidl as they aren't too far away (Trouble is....I have a huge Tesco Extra on my doorstep and that is convenient).
RSGB is an organisation that I am a member of and the money is paid quarterly.
The amount of money that I spend on drinks/alcohol is about £20 a month, but the website seems to have changed the amount that I entered to £86.67...I am not sure why.
Rail and car payments: I travel to work by train and use the car at weekends. My girlfriend lives 28 miles away and I take her home every Sunday evening and that journey is expensive (she always contributes to fuel). I have a fast car which has a 2.2cc engine and drinks fuel. I went to a local car dealers last Sunday and traded my car in. I will be collecting a Toyota Prius tomorrow (part diesel and part electric) 1.5cc, £10 per annum vehicle excise licence and it's free to enter the London congestion zone (not that I ever do).
I can't stop using Sky altogether as I am in a contract, but I will change my package to a cheaper one.
The £50 on eating out is for 3 months, not one month. I will look at the website that you mentioned - thanks.

Yes Jo....I am in London (Romford to be precise which is on the Essex border), but it is just as expensive. I am doing my best to keep my head above the water line and I have never missed a mortgage payment.
Re Marisco comments:
The gardening costs are yearly and that's for weed & feed, ant killer etc.
Cleaning: I do that...the costs is for cleaning fluids etc.
I had a look at the price comparison website and I have applied to change from Eon to Scottish Power for my electric and gas.
Re Moneybots comments:
I am buying the house on a mortgage and I hope to pay it in 12 years (when I am 65). It is much higher now because I ended up doing a 50:50 settlement when I divorced.
