With the greatest of respect, why the hell did you leave a free service for a fee paying one? It's normally the other way around!gill2000ste wrote: »can i just say, i think cccs is probably the best, i was with them till in march i changed to the money group but the money ive been paying them which was less then what i was paying cccs has gone nowhere, the people i owe money to have had no offers or recieved any payments...
so im nearly £300 worse off with no one paid but have an appointment with cccs today, who are probably the most helpful people i have ever dealt with....god im an idiot. xTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Debtplan are a fee paying company and as such should be avoided like the plague. I think you mean payplan, although I wouldn't even recommend them anymore, apparently they've been really pushing their IVAs as of late..bottleofred wrote: »..Consumer Credit Counselling Service or Debtplan..Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

These are the right people to goto for help - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2077631
For DMPs CCCS seems most commonly used, although NDL, PayPlan and CAB are often used to. CAP is not just for Christians and will help anyone.
Also, comapre a free vs a pay provider here - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=31705157&postcount=10Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
My gut feeling would be that anyone who wants to manage your debt for you sees something in it for themselves. Easy to imagine what it might be and the outcome for you.0

Agreed. If someone contacts YOU uninvited then you can guarantee it's not in YOUR interests, but theirs.sarahjames124 wrote: »My gut feeling would be that anyone who wants to manage your debt for you sees something in it for themselves. immoral_angeluk, cos im an idiot, seriously... even though i was paying less per month a percentage was going to the debt management company...
I honestly dont know why i did it, thankfully my call to cccs went really well and we just need to set everything up again... I feel really bad and its caused quite a few arguments in our house, mostly over whats happened to the money that i have been paying to them...
I dont suppose you have any ideas... immoral_angeluk0 -
Ok, I have sat down and had a go at doing my Statement of Affairs (just done a paper copy to start with as I didn't get the chance to go through all of my paperwork to get all my APR rates and so forth).
Here goes:
Rent - £350.00
Household bills - £100.00 (includes council tax; TV license; TV, landline and broadband; and electricity)
Savings - £150.00 (I often have to dip into this by the end of the month, so I don't have any savings of any significance, savings normally stand at around the £180.00 mark)
Egg Credit Card - £50.00
Lloyds Credit Card - £50.00
Love Film - £16.00
Mobile phone bill - £35.00 (contract is due to expire and I will be looking around for a better deal then)
Contact Lenses - £14.00
Debt to family member - £50.00
Catalogue - £30.00
Food etc - £100.00
Travel - £40.00
My monthly income is £1,100, and all of the above totals £985. Which leaves a monthly disposable income of around £115 per month.
Any advice would be gratefully received.0 -
Do you have £115 left at the end of the month - it seems not since you say you dip into the money you have put by for savings. I would start a spending diary so that you have a better idea where all of your money, especially the money earmarked for savings goes to.
To give much advice people would need to know how big your debts are and whether the money you have allocated is the minimum. So an SOA in the standard format would be great0 -
Do you need your little pot of savings?
I only mention that because your savings alone could clear a lot of the little debt
x
EDIT: Just realised that that is what you are paying a month! D'oh so excuse me lol
But, maybe use the money from savings to maybe pay a little bit more off?:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0
