Scam or real prize?

This is probably the wrong board, but you were all so great helping me out when I thought I had won a holiday.

I've received post this morning from Opinions Ltd t/a Survey UK saying we have won one of the gifts donated by local businesses & to phone th number which is says is normal telephone rate.

They are based in Cheltenham, wondering if anyone else has had this, i'm not sure I should ring the number incase it racks up huge bills on my phone.

I have heard of them but not received letters, what does the latter excatly say?

No idea - but if you have to part with any cash full stop - its a con.

Well, I've just phoned & it sounds as though I may have actually won a prize (unless anyone knows of this as a scam)

I've done alot of surveys & this is from one of the ones you fill in through the post.

We've won membership to a local gym & £750 vouchers, what ever that means, we have to go along with this code they've given us & have a look around & they will give us the vouchers, I asked & there is no joining fee as that is included in the prize.

We'll go along & see what happens, we've been wanting to join a gym for ages, but there arent any local, this is apparently a new one thats just opened, so we have nothing to loose really.

We and several hundred unsuspecting 'winners' have gone along & had a look round then been conned into signing a Direct Debit/Credit Contract for £369+ per year for two years (for the upkeep of the gym so they say).

Unless you want to tie yourself into a two year Gym Membership Contract.

If you try typing in FitLife or Associated Members in the search panel that will take you to a board that has 2546 unhappy 'Winners' of the same 'prize' that you've won. Just take a look before you sign anything.

Be aware and beware.

It could be true, but its prob just a scheme to get you here to part you with some cash.

Could be fun though....we went to a 'Won a Holiday' visit knowing it was a scam for timeshare/ hols club and then sat there drinking their coffee and eating biscuit while the squirming salesman tried to cope with a couple who's fave destination was ICELAND hahaha!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I won a holiday to the States this year and even had my Trading Standard Officer uncle tell me it was a scam and not to accept it or speak to the company involved.

Oh how I laughed when I stayed in the 'Pretty Woman Hotel' earlier this year!

Good things can happen, but if you have any doubts, then walk away.
