Can we cash in pension fund with Prudential?

My wife took out a with profits pension with prudential a number of years ago, leaving the NHS pension scheme to do so. She hasnt paid anything into this for at least six years as she rejoined the NHS scheme.

Is there any way of releasing the cash tied up with the prudential. She is only 35 and not retiring!!

No - money in a pension is locked up until you retire

There's a possible misselling claim as leaving the NHS scheme for a personal pension was unlikely to be a good idea, assuming she was advised to do this rather than deciding to do it herself.

Although the money is locked into the pension. It doesnt need to be the Pru pension. It can be a more modern investment pension or you could investigate getting it transferred into the NHS scheme.

If it was an upheld mis-sold pension, then you should seek advice first as a pension transfer from a mis-sold plan can result in any future redress requirements being voided.
