I found the Cheapest ever (for me) source of Green Tea yesterday on my way up the AI
Central Oriental Superstore
63/65 London Road
Sandy
Beds SG19 1DJ
100g of China Green Leaf Tea for 49p
This works out at 61p for 125g which is the size Tesco sell Clipper Green Tea leaves for at £1.19
I tried it last night and I can't taste any difference in quality to my usual brew.
They also had green tea bags but I didn't check the price of those as I prefer a proper cup brewed in a teapot.
See Lower Mortality Found Among Japanese Green Tea Drinkers
for some of the benefits of drinking green tea. I could at the risk of becoming a bore go on and on. Reducing the risk of sunburn and possibly preventing melanomas is another good reason.
The Chinese Superstore in Sandy is very good for those interested in Chinese cooking. It didn't appear to be trade only, though they had bags of spices the size that would last family lifetime. I thought it very clean, very efficient and helpful and they had very comprehensive stock. Definitely worth a visit if your passing. Easy access/parking for those going North.
