Another Trick I wasn't aware of! VW finance

I was going to suggest the Post Office CC; SuperBalanceTransfer (to current account) is charged at the same rate of 2.98%

OP, I think it's still worth it. A one-off 2.98% fee seems much better than paying 11% (possibly compounded) or have I missed something?

...In your oringinal post you said you will pay the £3000 to the VW car company via a credit card with 0% for 16 months....This does dont make it a balance transfer, thats not how you do it, that would just be a purchase, how come no other poster saw this? I see this mistake all the time on here!

I think people did see it, but as VW told the poster it wasn't possible to pay off the balance with a credit card at all (as we would expect) then the actual wording the OP used is not really relevant.

I already do have a credit card with my bank which I use but I pay it off at the end of each month so they don't charge me interest.

I was simply going to put the £3000 on this card, get a new %0 card before the full payment is due and transfer it.

I hope this clarifies the confusion.

Work out how much it would cost you to leave the finance balance with VW Finance and compare that with the cost of super balance transferring (fee charged for transferring to your current account) and any early settlement charges.

Whichever is cheaper, go for it!

Car dealers generally don't accept credit card payments. Lots of people have tried buying a car on a credit card for the cashback/clubcard points/whatever. It rarely works unless you are buying really cheap second hand cars.
