A friend has applied for jobseekers, but when she got to her first interview she had to have an interview with a financial advisor.
Whats that got to do with looking for a job?
They dont tell you this till you get there apparently.
Anyone else had to endure this?

It would not be a financial advisor per se, but it is possible that she will have a benefits check up to ensure she is getting her correct entitlement. I would see that as a bonus, not something to endure.Gone ... or have I?0

You see a Financial Assessor (not a Financial Advisor!) before you see the New Claims Advisor. They take down any financial information needed to make your claim-ie copies of bank statements; pension details etc may be needed if you are claiming Income based JSA. They also send off any details that the council may need for any claim to Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit. All 'new' claims are previewed by an FA the day before you are due to go to the Jobcentre, so if you need to bring in any information they will phone you to let you know. They also use this opportunity to fill in any gaps that the Contact Centre have left whilst gathering the information for your claim.0

That's the first person you see at the Job Centre. He/she will go over the stuff you applied over the phone or online, so that nothing is wrong. Check your ID and other documents. After that, you see another person, who will draw up a Job Seekers Agreement (Jsag).0
