    Hi Mrs Porridge,

The hippo in the cistern is a good idea, as is only flushing the loo when necessary. You could take a shower through the week which uses approximately 35 litres of water (of course very dependent on how long you shower for) and have a bath at the weekend perhaps. Turning the tap off when brushing your teeth and not leaving taps running when washing dishes etc. If you have a dishwasher make sure it's full before turning it on and consider a quick/eco setting as well. When you do have a bath, you could also consider bathing with a friend to save water!!
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

I went onto the SWW website and I've ordered Hippos. As someone said they also have a fact sheet which I will have a look through.

I do need a water butt and have been thinking about getting one for a while and will do so now.

I don't use my dishwasher but I do wash the odd cup etc., up under running water as does DH and DS. Methinks we'll all have to have a sit down and chat about this :)

Will get a washing up bowl at the weekend.

I've got sensitive teeth and have to run the upstairs hot tap for ages to get hot water to rinse my mouth after doing my teeth - that will now stop and I'll try and remeber to take up a cup of boiled water instead from the kettle.

There certainly is plenty of scope for us to save - so thanks to everyone for their ideas.

When the last bill came in I got DH to go outside and read the meter as the bill was estimated. Unfortunately the estimated reading was lower than the actual reading :(
