Can you recommend me a camera please?

Options
Hi everyone

I was wondering if you could recommend me a camera...

I already have a Canon EOS 400D with a couple of lenses but it's very heavy and bulky to carry around with me all the time. I'm after something small that I can keep in my handbag, doesn't have to be all singing and dancing but would like it to take nice crisp pictures and able to cope with close up objects...I'm using my iphone for photos at the mo to just stick online but it's not very clear of course.

Would also like it to be relatively easy to use (I have my Canon for when I want to use my brain lol) and also easy to get the photos onto my laptop. I'd like to spend under £100.

Anyone have any cameras like this that you can personally recommend?

Thanks :)

I use an Olympus U1040. It's small and great for clubbing as it fits in the smallest pocket. Have had it for almost a year and really rate it. very easy to use and it has a lithium battery. a cool camera

Have a look at the panasonic compacts. I have the TZ4 (which replaced a canon compact and in my view is far superior) but I think the most recent incarnation is the TZ7. If you do a search you'll find a recent thread on here somewhere about the panasonic compacts, most owners would say they can't be beaten.

Edit... just noticed you want to spend under £100, so that probably puts the panny out, although you might drop lucky and get the previous model in a sale.
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.
