Hi there,
I'm looking to buy a house to let in the future, maybe a year down the line. Just wanted to know if im a first time buyer how much discount would I actually get? or on average what the rate will be? Any help would do thanks

In general there is not much difference between normal rates and FTB rates
( for main residence) more common is rate depends on size of deposit, although a few lenders will package a "FTB" deal

Is this a better idea..
Rather than looking for buy-to-let properties, I should just try and get the house then make it to let. That way my mortgage will be more of a discounted rate than buy-to-let mortgage?
