Mine has just given up the ghost and I really need a printer for my college course. I find it a bit overwhelming trying to find the best deals on any electrical item, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful:) I need to buy the printer, colour cartridges and paper.

Are you planning to buy a colour laser printer? If you are just wanting to buy an inkjet then dont as you probably know the ink drys up after period of non printing.
If you dont want to buy a colour laser then a black laser printer like a samsung is fine.0 -
Not since Rupert Murdoch smashed the unions in the Thatcher era.Otherwise look at ink costs rather than purchase costs;use the draft print option which saves ink.Therew is a site which sounds like Tumgree which is free, and Play and Dixonsetc. have current sales

If your looking for a well priced laser printer then look on Ebay. I got a Samsung ML-2525 Mono Laser Printer on a best offer price of £70. Its a great printer at a great price!0

We have a laser printer, an Epson C900. One thing I would say is do not change the toner cartridges as soon as they say to. Our daughter left college a couple of years ago and at that time it was complaining that two cartridges needed changing. Now we do not use it constantly, but we do use it most days whether for at least one print including these colours. We have just changed those two cartridges!
I would definitely say get laser, it is consistent in printing and does not dry up in the hot weather. You can get the cartridges cheap off Ebay or get them refilled, there is no way I would try to refill a toner cartridge myself though! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
