Good afternoon everyone!!
Right i need some help dont know what to do, ive posted a few times on here and my soa about a month or so ago, my partner being self employed was not earning a regular wage and as we got in such a mess i contacted the cccs. We have been paying token payments to creditors, all been great apart from 2 and they are giving me loads of grief. Anyway 2 weeks ago my partner landed a job with a contractor and finally hes back on regular payments. Ive emailed my case worker at the cccs so she can contact me as id like to now go on a payment program.
Today ive had a final demand from one creditor asking for full payment within 7 days or solicitor will be contacting me to proceed with court proceedings, unless i can offer a more "realistic" repayment.
What do i do now, do i contact them to offer more ? if so what about all other creditors... would it be fair on them who have been really good about it, should i agree a higher offer without talking to the cccs first ?
the creditor has asked for proof of income, if u send that its gonna look bad as my partner is earning and so am i, but ive waited 2 weeks so weigh up the security of his job because its been here n there all year.
do i need to send them proof, or tell them to deal with the cccs?
cant anyone offer some advise
Thanks

Afraid I know nothing about cccs, so can't really advise, just wanted to say well done to your hubby on job, and hang in there, it will all start to improve soon, and i'm sure someone will be along in a bit who knows more about cccs.

No, you just say 'I am with the CCCS, my reference case number is xxxxxx and I will only deal with you in writing in the future and you need to contact the CCCS direct.'
Then, anything you get in writing you forward to the cccs. They are just trying to put the frighteners on you. If they've already agreed to token payments then they are just trying to extort more out of you by scaring you.
Call the CCCS yourself for advice on how to deal with them as well.0 -

thanks for your replies both of you. sorry i didnt make it clear, this final demand letter ive had is from 1 of the 2 creditors that would not accept the token payment, i wrote to them again asking them to reconsider, but they wouldnt accept it, just reduced the original amount they asked for. but it still wasnt achievable to pay the reduced amount they were asking for,
im just waiting for a reply to my email to the cccs caseworker as i want to go on a dmp... just worried what todo now with this final demand. i feel physically sick at all this and im starting to get in a state over it all again, just when i thought i could start to sort this mess out.0
