I am thinking of writing short stories for magazines, but am not really sure how to go about it.
Any advice on sending in manuscripts or how much you charge/get paid etc would be gratefully received.

It's probably worth looking at short stories in various magazines to see what they are publishing. This will give you some ideas about types of story e.g. romance, comedy etc. Then see what kind of stories you feel you could write. Also borrow the Writer's Handbook from the library for advice and tons of addresses. Good luck!

I wrote a story for a mag about my unusual health condition (nothing serious just a bit weird) for Full House magazine and I got £200!!!! It was really easy but I had to go through an agency goodhonestfeatures.com as they don't often take commissions from unknowns but the agency were really nice and paid me quickly too and the story wasn't changed too much from how I wrote it.
Fancy doing another one now.0
