BLT-total respect to you. If only more NRP would see that 20% for 2 children is not only statutory, but morally right.
Too many NRP assume that all of us PWC are out for only the money and are either living in mansions with private butlers at the expense of the NRP, or going out partying, smoking and drinking away THEIR hard earned child support payments! I don't know ANY PWC like that, and I only wish you were my ex husband! lol
At the end of the day, money is great, but kids are greater.
I would suggest in that case that the NRP actually looks after their children for a month and sees how far their contribution goes, I can feed myself for 3 months on what my absent child costs me in a week when she visits :-)0 -
BLT - I'm a PWC and NRPP,my children eat me out of house and home, they follow a healthy balanced diet ( which tends to be more expensive than burger and chips), with exercise (usually at a cost - swimming/dancing/karate etc), so I can honestly say my husband would be cheaper to feed and clothe( from Tesco or Asda George) than the children.
I agree wholeheartedly and I am not extravagant, I penny pinch as we all do/have to, just look for days out on the cheap (picnics/bike rides etc), but children can be expensive - and when they say 'please Mummy' with the big eyes, if I had to starve for a week I probably would for whatever they pleading for! I'm no pushover but just love my children0 -
Thanks for your replies everyone,
It looks like I'll be getting £5 a week for the unforseeable future then, as my ex has no intention of working - As he keeps saying "Why would he want to work when he has roughly £250 left over per week after all his bills are paid".
I'm just so sick of him rubbing how much money he & his wife have got, into mine & our childrens faces and was hoping there was something I could do.
I guess its a case of playing the waiting game to see if he gets his head out of his backside & realises that his first children still need supporting even though he has a new baby & 2 stepchildren now.0
