Mortgage Free by 40?

Would like to go back and tell my 2010 self that it is definitely possible, particularly as holidays are now a thing of the past so that's an extra few hundred pounds a year to overpay.

Just over £52k left on original mortgage, hoping to pay it off in under 12 years (so 6 more years left!)

Next target is to get below 50% of original mortgage left.

How is this going? I purchased in September 2011 2 months before my 30th birthday and I am determined to have it paid off by September 2021, 2 months before my 40th!

I'm done!!!

Paid it off in January thanks to continuing low interest rates. The last year I've been unwell so had to go part time at work but still managed the overpayments - finally got my own home.

Sorry to hear of poor health but of course this is part of the reason for clearing mortgage in case life throws a curveball. Hope PT is working out for you. What are your plans now you are MF?
