Those having civil ceromonies - what songs are you playing?

I had a song to walk down the asile to. I am hoping that it will be ok as it does mention the word "spirit" in there :huh::doh:

I did not think about a song being played whilst signing the register & also when walking out :silenced: i have no idea what sort of songs to go for..

Im just trying to think of some that i like.

To walk down the asile i am going for this, i would have liked a chior to sing this, but i dont think it is allowed? I think it will just be played through my ipod although one of my friends is a singer so i may see if she feels confident to sing it for me

Then i was thinking maybe something like this ror signing the register?? These are my 2 fav songs from Romeo & Juliet

Another one of my favs but cant have it as it has Jesus in it

We're having an instrumental version of "One Day Like This" by Elbow to walk down the aisle to, but not sure about the rest :)

Loving all the songs you've picked, especially the first one from R&J....gorgeous voice!

Love the string quartert thing....it sounds so elegant. I went to wedding of a school friend some years ago and they had a string quartet...our higlight was when we persuaded them (and it took a lot of persuading!!) to play the Wombles theme as it was something the bride and I had grown up loving as kids :rotfl::rotfl:

That is lovely Ellay - how fantastic that you'll have something so personal for your special day - I'm a bit teary eyed about that...!!

But I do agree -there are lots of threads about what songs to use for civil ceremonies - for those newbies, there is a search facility at the top of the forum page.:money:

Thank you Dizzie...he wrote it a few years back, finally got round to recording it 2 years ago. The video footage is a montage of pics taken on a surprise trip to Switzerland last year for my birthday when he proposed to me at the top of the Jungfrau mountain :) So for songs I have to have at the wedding it was a no-brainer lol
Must admit I've enjoyed reading the various threads as I know I need more than the one song and there's some lovely ideas out there

Yes - it would be a no brainer for me too, but Mr Dizzie is not at all musical, so it's not likely to happen....!!

I know that the song threads are useful- I guess I'm just being a grump - I get fed up of suggesting songs for people who
never say thank you, or let us know what they used..!!

Thank you Horace - the photos didn't transfer quality wise as well as I'd hoped but the place is so beautiful it makes amends :)

Dizzie - I know where you're coming from, have noticed your signature before :rotfl:
