As you haven't had an answer yet you'll have to make do with this one. Hopefully somebody will come up with better advice.
I originally found this one for £269 delivered.

But I eventually found your one and realised it looked nothing like it.

So what I do in situations like this is to go to Google Shopping and Amazon and use certain keywords. I used 'french style beds'. Here are the listings:
http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&client=firefox-a&q=french+style+bed&output=nojs&price1=&price2=400.00&lnk=prsugg&show=dd
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_p_36_1?rh=k%3Afrench+style+bed%2Cn%3A11052681%2Cn%3A%213147411%2Cn%3A10709121%2Cn%3A10745681%2Cn%3A11712161%2Cp_36%3A305155031&bbn=11712161&keywords=french+style+bed&ie=UTF8&qid=1280269836&rnid=388997011
Of course not everyone who advertises on the internet is completely honest. So I do a number of checks.
1. Make sure the website has a British address and a (preferably) geographical phone number. Shyster companies tend to hide behind a box number or use non traceable 0870,0871 mobile phone numbers etc.
2. Do a Domain Registration lookup. All websites have to be registered and give certain information. Just copy and paste the web address into here:
http://whois.domaintools.com/
and then you can match up the address on the website with the registration. You'll also be able to see when the site was first registered.
3. Find reviews. I go onto Google, Yahoo, Bing etc and type in the name of the internet site followed by the word 'review' You'll soon see if they have a bad reputation.
Here's an example. The entry at the top of the Google listing is for a company called ReMyfurniture who are selling a bed for £366. The site has an address but uses an 0845 number. The Domain Registration shows a different address and that the owner uses a gmail web address.
http://www.remyfurniture.com/contact_us.php
http://whois.domaintools.com/remyfurniture.com
Finally the reviews on this site are pretty damning:
http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews171582.html
I've always found Amazon to be a safe company to do business with and the consumer has certain guarantees with their Marketplace partners but I could only find five beds which fitted the criteria I used.
So have a look through the listings, choose the bed you like the look of, do the checks and you should get yourself a bargain.0 -
