I know I could post this in the UK holiday thread but thought I'd try the local thread first.
I'm planning to go camping for a few nights at the start of August, I'm based in Edinburgh so don't want to go anywhere more than 2 hours drive away so I was thinking Central/Perthshire. Looking for a nice little campsite, minimum requirements are a shower/toilet block. Am taking my 7 yo daughter and she is desperate to go walking in the woods/forests. We have done Pitlochry a few times and when we could travel further we like beach camping up at Morar.
So, something different, anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

We have a book called 'Cool Camping in Scotland' which we use - lots of smaller campsites are mentioned. Perhaps your library will stock it to save buying it?0

Great suggestion! Brilliant walks, there is a burn which has a good pool for swimming and Aberfoyle is a pleasant one mile walk away (along the old railway track so off the main road). Lovely site.
You can find it here http://www.forestholidays.co.uk/camping_and_caravanning/our_sites__locations/scotland/cobleland.aspx0 -
Cruachan Farm Campsite just outside Killin is a great site, have camped there a couple of times.
Very spacious. Its basic, but facilities are clean. You can have a walk through the forest to the loch.0
