Double Ottoman Bed - Price / Quality?

I'm looking for a double ottoman bed (one where you can lift up the mattress section to reveal a storage area underneath).
Prices for faux leather ones seem to start at about £190, but a) is the quality of these any good and b) has anyone seen any good deals / clearance sales on more expensive ones?
I'm getting a farily pricey mattress to go on it so I expect the comfort factor will come from that, but I don't want a bed that will fall apart, be really creaky, look poorly made or have cheap/tacky material
Any pointers? Thanks!

As with any products, there is good quality, and there is bad. So buy from someone with a good returns policy, just in case.
As for your mattress. What type of mattress are you planning on putting on it, as some won't be suitable?0 -

Recently got an ottoman bed from the co-op bed shop. Bought the sweet dreams organic cotton one on the list here and it's lovely. Seems really nice quality and very sturdy and the bed is so comfortable. Bought a leather headboard to go with it and it looks really smart.
Would also recommend the co-op bed shop too as they were efficient with our order.
Went through topcashback to get 5% cashback and at the time there was a code on the co-op site for members to get £50 off their order, had a quick look and there does not seem to be a code there now but it may be worth keeping an eye out for one.0 -
Osian - that looks lovely but is a bit pricey for me (who knew buying your first house would cause your bank account to leak money!)
Tim - The mattress I'm after is a Rest Assured pocket sprung latex one. I've read your posts regarding RA / silentnight group on here but I cannot find another manufacturer which makes pocket sprung and latex-topped mattresses. I'm looking specifically for this because I stayed in a B&B with this mattress and it was so unbelievably comfortable, I want one! I stay in hotels almost every week and not one other mattress has come close.
Can you advise if there is any alternative?
I've also been told by a salesman at an independent bed store (who don't stock RA and he didn't try to sell me something else instead) that a perforated board under the mattress would elongate the life if I'm putting it on a slat base, but not doing so wouldn't cause terminal damage until after many years.0 -

There are loads of manufacturers of pocket sprung and latex foam mattresses. And many if not most are probably better quality than RA.
One thing you have to watch out for is that most manufacturers only use a thin layer of latex foam, and someof them use fancy words like 'zonal support' which usually means that they only have the latex foam in some areas. You need to be looking for one with a full 2" layer of natural latex (not the blend of synthetic and natural as used by RA), and if you can find them, a two sided mattress so that it will last longer.
The salesman in the shop was right about the pegboard (or you can use hardboard). I have actually mentioned this many times on MSE. However if it is a non turn mattress then is still won't last anywhere near as long as one that you can turn.0
