no our insurance was a joint critical illness and life insurance..it pays out in the first instance which was critical illness in our case.i now cannot get any life insurance until at least 5 years clear so nothing to cover us.So best thing for us is to dig away at it and once the mortgage is goneno worries as we'll always have money even with only 1 of us working.
it was a decreasing policy hence why not enough to pay mortgage....so we paid all debts off and put the rest in savings and are just adding to it as much as we can..obviously not as much as Ilike but I'm not working at the moment.
Will go back next year if I'm well enough just to help get rid of the mortgage and then retire..lol..or go very part time...will not know till then really
