It'd be different if it was straightforward and practical, but it isn't!!
Paying the congestion charge has been made to be as difficult as possible, and no wonder. If you miss it, they put it up to £50!!

or
Ken Livingstone
Mayor of London
Greater London Authority
City Hall
The Queen's Walk
More London

Livingstone is not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm sure if he heard this was the effect of his personal policy and incompetent baliffs, he'd be very interested.

I'll tell you my/our story.
We went to London on January 2nd for a photo shoot in Battersea, and ended up going through the zone. Anyway, left London at about 7pm. Sat on the M25 for 3-hours due to an accident. Got home about 1am.
Went to log on and pay the charge. "Sorry!! Tough Titties." You can't pay the damn thing after the day!! So if you go through London at 6p.m. you only have 6-hours to pay it.
Bill automatically gone upto £50, and YOU HAVE to pay within 14-days. !!!!!!!!
Bloody day light robbery this is.
According to their website, the charge goes up to £10 if you pay by midnight the following day using the call centre or online. This is only £2 more than if you pay by midnight the same day.0 -

Should not be there in the first place, what happens with the money already raised from car tax?:mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Well I have just sent a fax to CCS (or whatever they are called) with the Statutory Declaration we had sworn and a copy of it to the traffic people at Northampton. Will see what they have to say but I am so angry now I am determined to fight it all the way and if I do have to pay the fine I will pay as little as possible every month.0

it is extortion but what do you expect from ex and current cabinet ministers
surely though if it had been to northampton court you would have had at least two letters one for you to respond to as the defendant and the second telling you the judgement.Light Bulb Moment 1st January '06-£82,000

Regardless of anyone's personal views on the matter, I was pointing out an inaccuracy in someone else's post. It doesn't matter whether you or I believe in the charge, the OP needs assitance with their current problem and there was information posted which is not backed up by the congestion charge website.0
