Hi all,
I've recently applied for a tax refund. I have today received a letter from HMRC stating the amount I am due to receive.
The guide enclosed in the letter advised that I will receive my repayment 'shortly'. Does anyone know roughly how long I can expect to wait?
Understand that the tim it takes to turn these things around can vary, but I'm hoping I'm close to my refund now.
Thanks for any advice provided

Scratch that,
I had a separate letter that enclosed a cheque for one of the two years I am due a refund.
Should I expect a separate letter for the other year or have they sent only one cheque in error?
Again any advice appreciated.
Thanks

If you have applied for a refund for 2 or more tax years then they normally calculate the refund for the earlier year and carry that forward to the calculations for the later years and the total refund at the end takes into consideration the amounts carried forward. Only 1 cheque will be issued.
Check your calculations to see if this happened in your case. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
