Just a thought. How can flights be £3 including tax. Surely the tax is set by the govt., and is standard. i have often thought that the tax (and flight costs generally) are just a big con, and when the like of Ryanair can have deals like this, and seemingly set their own rate of tax, it just seems to prove it.

No doubt someone will tell me where my thinking is wrong, thanks in advance

Well, what do you think the card fee, bag fee, admin fee etc all go to pay for? The taxes are there, just shrouded from view.

Then don't pay them. Use Pre-paid Mastercard and take hand luggage only (10Kg). I've had dozens of flights for £1 or 1p and that's ALL I paid.

I was just avoiding any misunderstandings, some people might have thought that one can't get flights at the advertised amount, which of course many of us do, very often.

Well I use the Fairfx ANYwhere card for flights from the UK or Return flights from the UK. You pay 1.5% transaction fee and that's all if you load it from most debit cards, (a surcharge from credit cards).
You can get the card FREE from various places. Perhaps still from the Fairfx website - I'm not sure.
Last time I looked the Dailymail money pages had a link (the maid left the paper!) or I think it was the moneysupermarket.com or try via the Opodo web-site. You may have to look around for the links but they do exist for getting the card is free.

I've used Fairfx cards all over the world and they do exactly what they say (for me anyway). I just top the Anywhere card up on-line with no fee.
