Dye my black hair back to brown?

Copied off of the facebook page..........
Scott's last sentence refers to people who use VERY hot straighteners most days and have done for a long time (and have used xxl colour in some cases)
thank you for your advice, after reading some other peoples issues i am concerned that i may have silicone damage, and i understand that this will effect the results of the colour b4. is there any way to try and reverse silicone damage, i want to make sure i take all the steps possible even if it takes a bit longer so that i get good results. also if the product doesnt work would highlights help to restore my colour?

Scott Cornwall Hair Expert They might help, but they can also have trouble taking on the hair if there is silicone build up. You need to try Bicarb (two spoons) and sprinkle lemon juice into it and create a paste, wash your hair with Boots build up removal shampoo and comb in the bicarb paste and leave for 20 minutes. Then do this once a week for four weeks and only wash your hair with the Boots build up removal shampoo. After one month you should hopefully have a big reduction in the silicone build up, however I have to say I have seen some cases that are so bad nothing can help it.Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Shampoo is £2.99, Ill pick some up and use it for a month as recommended:

Then I'll go for it! I'll update with a before and after pic lol0 -
See advice about going on the facebook page I gave above and then have a look at the pics.........from memory there are some redheads on there but not 100% on that.
I don't think it will be that straight forward from red but possible. Post a question about it on there and Scott will answer when he gets a minute in his hectic life LOLNicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

The only problem Im going to have is washing my hair frequently...Im one of those lucky types with very thick hair that can go 5 days to a week between washes (since I was a small child!). Im guessing the shampoo is designed to be used a couple of times a week so thats going to be a challenge
Bicarb and lemon on tomorrows shopping list!0 -

Colour B4 is the best hair product i have ever bought!! I have been dying my hair for years & the last time i dyed it i chose 2 go black, after having months of this colour it got very boring then my roots started coming through!! I was looking at going to a hair salon to get it done but then i was told it cost around £100 which i couldnt afford so a friend told be about Colour B4 so i tried it, Im so glad i did & i will deffinatly be buying it again if i have anymore hair disasters!!! xx0
