if it helps my recipe for chilli using these beans is:
Brown the mince
add tomatoes
add beans
add kidney beans (if you ahve them)
add mush rooms and any veg to bulk it out
add any extra water if it looks a bit thick
(youo might notice I am one of the 'bung it in, cook and eat' brigade)
If you like it a bit spicier you can add a bit of extra chilli, but like I say my kids love this cos its not too spicy for them but I take theirs out and then a bit more spice for hubby...ooer!!
Hope you enjoy, I also do it with sausagesd to make a casserole:
Brown sausages
add toms
add beans
add veg
add water
cook for 45 mins on med/low, eatProud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -

Heat your chilli beans for 3 mins in the microwave.Put your chilli beans in a casserole dish, add a layer of grated carrot mixed with grated cheese and two bags of crunched up crisps. Grill for 10 mins (keep an eye on it so it doesnt get burnt).
Serve with nice bread and a salad or some grilled peppers & mushrooms.0 -
I have two tins of mixed beans in chilli sauce in the cupboard and I don't know what to do with them. Any good recipe ideas?0

You could add them to chilli con carne, or a veggi chilli.
There's an older thread on chilli beans, so I'll merge this one to keep ideas together.

Chilli beans toasties!Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

Why not cook some sausages & chop them into chunks, put them in a casserole dish with the beans, grate some cheese on top then top with mashed potatoes & more grated cheese then bake in the oven.
Cheap, filling, tasty.0
