Funky Monkeys (soft play centre) is opening in Newtownabbey next week. Just wondered if anyone had joined any of the other ones in Kennedy Centre, Lurgan or Downpatrick? wanted to know if the membership of £12 per month would be worth it! my kids are ten months and two years old. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I went to one of them the other week and was reading the leaflet about the membership but couldn't work out if it was £12 a month per child or family. Do you know what it is?

it's £12 per month per child unfortunately. Wish it was per family! Under one's get free with an older sibling so I would only have to pay for one for a couple of months anyway. Am just trying to work out if Ii would get my use out of it or not.

I don't think it is worth it then. I honestly don't think I would get mt moneys worth out of it and the kids might become bored of always going there.
  • Hi, i have been a member of lurgan for 2 years. I get my value from it and more. I go with my 5 year old son and his friend every friday and meet my sister in law and her 3 kids. Her mother goes at least twice a week too. It's great value and well worth it. I would recommend it but try it out for a few weeks and see if your kids like it and go from there. Also with the membership you get 10% discount in the cafe.

Yes and just to add, that includes birthdays!

Also you can cancel at any time (ie no contract)

well it opened yesterday and curiosity got the better of me, so down we went for a nosey. Have to say we were surprised that the seating area seemed much bigger than the actual play area! however my 2 year old loved it and compared to funworks it was well lit and I could see where my daughter was most of the time from the seating area. The toddler area is perfect for my baby too as she is very much into climbing at the minute! Although she is almost able to climb over the sides already. Good to know that the membership can be cancelled at any time. Does anyone know if the £10 joining fee can be waived like a gym fee?
  • HI, I'm not sure if the joining fee can be waived - however you should ask anyway! Hope you enjoyed it.
