Had a card from Aegis saying they're going to call at my house! What do I do?

Will they really come or is this just a ruse to get me to call them?
You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an
"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs :p :rotfl:

They may come, they may not. Just tell them to clear off, give them no personal information and tell them you communicate through letters only.

There is a template on here somewhere which revokes their right to visit your property without your permission (which you don't give of course) and there is another one you can send which tells them to communicate via post only.

Probably just a bluff by them but whatever you do, don't be bullied or scared by them if they do call.

    Best of luck

Are you sure it says "call AT my house" or "call my house" they send these cards and the wording is misleading?

The Halifax do this too, it arrives in what looks like a pay-slip with tear off sides saying "we will call your house on X date", when I first read it I read "call AT my house" and it's not just means they will telephone.

Unlikely to come (though not totally unheard of) - but you can send this to be certain - Threat of Doorstep-Visit

Unless the doorstep visit is in your T&Cs, with the £85 as been chargeable. They are not allowed to do it!

Tell Barclays you won't be held liable for unlawful charges, and then threaten to report them to the Financial Ombudsman Service, together with any proof involved.

An Ombudsman investigation will cost Barclays £500, and follow your threat through if Barclays won't knuckle under.

By law they have to make an appointment with you & you are within your rights to not make one with them.

Thanks FTW and mr.ton, have told them very politely where they can stick their charge and the others they put on. Am waiting for their complaints department to process my claim for the charges, plus interest and cost of phone calls. Once they get back with their response I can take it further.

Am reading through it. So glad you pm'd as I had managed to miss this post when reading through. Will have a good look through that leaflet and my T&C just to make sure I know fully where I stand. Thank you.
