Well done and welcome. Consolidating may give lower monthly payments but at the cost of years of extra payments and massive extra interest over those years, No wonder there are so many institutions out there begging you to take up their offers! Very lucrative for the banks but not good for us.

  • I was very keen last night at 11.30 and attempted to apply for a Post Office 0% for six months credit card but it all froze at the last screen and wouldn't go any further than reading the terms and ticking the box to say I had read them - just kept throwing me back to the same screen - I was very  at the PC!

I will look into this SOA business and sort one out and post it as soon as I can - lots of ideas will keep me motivated - work for next three days but I will keep a note to remind me to do it!

    Ta again...

Whatever our problems, as long as my family is healthy, the birds are singing and there is chocolate, I really can't complain

  • Good luck!
Just to say I've consolidated twice and am in more debt not less - that's what's sparked my lightbulb moment - never again!
So I think you need to look at all the factors - it may be best as you would reduce interest rates but it is very tempting to consolidate and then keep on spending too much.
Lots more people here with more of a clue than me though!
