is like having a bankrupt telling everyone he is the best man to work out his spending and repayments for the future.:D
The people who get their selves in to trouble dont see the error of their ways and need others help to get them back on track.
Labour are out because they screwed the country up, you cant pin that on anyone else!!
In my view Darling set free would have been a great chancellor, now Brown on the other hand.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. basically they're looking at an engineered recession
Possibly, if they think they can get out of it by 2015.
However, that would imply they have a plan. From what I seen, they seem to be making it up as they go along.
I have a horrible feeling that they genuinely think that cutting will help the recovery.Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -
err, Labour were putting up VAT up to 20% and increasing NI more than the current government.
My calculator makes that more not less.:D

Jesus labour were planing 20% real cuts from non ring fenced departments.
End of, it is in black and white.
They called off a spending review to hide it untill after the election.
And finally who was steering the ship and putting the country in a massive fiscal deficit from 2002 onwards. Making our response much worse had they actually dealt with previous spending responsibly.
All anyone is doing by blowing smoke up labours @$%

And the conservatives are planning cuts of between 5 and 25% more on top of the spending cuts labour announced, and very significant reductions in benefit, and increases in tax...
Alister Darling was planning to cut harder than margaret thatcher. Cameron is planning to cut up to cut departmental spending by between 5 and 25% more than alister darling.
In addition, he wants to cut benefits by more than the Labour party and increase Taxes by more than the labour party.
I don't see why you are finding this so hard to understand. I am only repeating what Mr Cameron said before the election, and what Mr Osbourne has put into hius budget after the election.err, Labour were putting up VAT up to 20% and increasing NI more than the current government.
My calculator makes that more not less.:D
So they are reducing two taxes, and this means there plans for the entire tax take is lower than labours? Hmpfh.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

In addition, the tory government has not yet announced the details of its spending cuts, it has only announced that departments are being asked to prepare two plans - one for cuts of 25% and one for 40%.
Setting objectives has a remarkable effect of concentrating minds. Once the remit is passed down the chain of command to individual budget holders. Amazing how much unneccessary spend accumalates over time as complancy sets in. I'm not using the word waste delibrately. As the good or service etc is required for a purpose. However obtaining that good or service at a better price or more competitive rate. This results in a cost saving. Not everything requires a cut.0 -
I thought they didn't tell us anything?
Don't do a graham on me steve.
The point is clear (as vat 20% for lab or con was mainstream anyway pre election) there is no evidence tax has been increased more than it would have been under labour.
It actually looks less after not increasing NI as much as was planed by the previous government.0
