Welcome finance

Hi,
around nov 09 i had salary arrested to pay welcome finance £1562 this was done and so i assumed account was closed as it was for the full amount owing.
in april i applied for ppi reclaim for two loans from welcome ( no outcome as yet)
Yesterday welcome phoned and said that i still owe them approx £800 .
does anyone think this could be a tactic to avoid paying me anything ,I would appreciate any advice on where to go now.
thanks people.

How much of your wages were been arrested a month? If it was only £85, assuming no interest been added there would still be about £800 left on the account.

Are you sure the £1562 has actually been fully paid off to date?

    hi ,
the arrestment was for four payments of just under £400 per 4 wk wage.
    final payment about £386
the fellow on the phone said there had been confusion on the payment from my employer to themselves at the time of arrestment but it had finnally been sorted,he also said i was not to worry as no one was chasing me for money.
could this be something that they have applied charges for.
    thanks
