But it's a lot of work -- no pain, no gain, as they say.
You can do it by becoming a partner, but that's not an easy thing to
do.
First of all, you have to be resident in a country where the partner
program is active -- the list is growing slowly, but not all countries
are on it yet.
Then you have to be making videos which do not violate any of
YouTube's Community Guidelines or Terms of Use, and which are
completely above the board where copyright and privacy laws are
concerned. This means, for example, that before you can upload a video
that uses the latest Miley Cyrus single as background music, or a clip
from the Simpsons, you must get permission from the copyright owners
(which can be time-consuming and expensive).
Your videos also have to be technically and artistically decent --
editing, lighting, sound, scripting, acting, etc., don't have to be
professional, but the video does need to be watchable.
Finally, your videos should be interesting and/or entertaining, as
original as you can make them, and attract a wide audience. You'll
probably need at least 1000 subscribers, and your videos should get at
least a few hundred views within a day of being uploaded -- preferably
a few thousand.
If you think you're partner material, It may take minutes, or it may
take weeks, but eventually you'll get a reply.
If you're accepted, you then have some paperwork to do, and once
that's sorted, you can go ahead and monetize your videos. Those videos
will have adverts put on them, and you will receive a share of the
advertising revenue they generate. But unless you have hundreds of
thousands of subscribers, it'll be little more than pocket money..

It's Mashable you were looking for right? www.mashable.net If you like that also check out Online Social Media www.onlinesocialmedia.net - does pretty much the exact same thing. You can write articles for them and get paid i think. No need to thank me. ;pYoung At Heart and Ever The Optimist: "You can't sell ice to Eskimo."
