SmartFish® omega 3 sample

http://www.healthproductsforlife.com/content.asp?id_Content=1189&id_Content_Parent_Override=1187

Children hate taking fish oils - the taste and smell are very off-putting. Yet research shows that omega 3 is crucial for developing brains, and for learning, concentration and behaviour, not to mention skin, heart and mood - recently highlighted by Professor Winston's TV documentary 'Child of Our Time'. SmartFish® provides the highest quality omega 3 fish oil, from the cleanest waters in the world (the South Pacific), in a delicious lemon-flavoured creamy gel that children actually like. What's more, it comes in individual sachets, so there's no capsule or oil to swallow, and children love to squeeze straight into their mouth. SmartFish® is sweetened with xylitol, a 100% natural fruit sugar that actually helps prevent tooth decay, plus natural lemon flavouring oil.

Not suitable for people with allergies to fish, milk protein and lactose

  • The preservatives in this are not good.
The best omega fish oil I know is Omegacare by Biocare, but at £18 for a month's supply, not cheap.

Also, I'd strongly recommend against Solgar. They are also expensive but I bought some of their fish oil capsules which were well within date, broke one open and the oil was rancid.

  • Good Omega 3 sources have to be refrigerated because the become rancid very readily; good quality ones are in the refrigeration cabinet in healthfood shops.

There is also an issue about heavy metals and PCB contamination in fish oil from fish that are high up the food chain because our seas are so polluted. Oil from small fish such as anchovies is less contaminated.
  • so im now confused!!! which one is the best for our children (and the best value/cheapest too)??
