Hi after reading the thread on 'things you never thought you could sell' ive realised that i have a few beauty items and other things like contact lenses solution i could sell. however am bit stuck with the packaging -do people use jiffy bags to send bottles of cream/solution/bath/soap etc? and if not what do you use?
am wondering if the packaging id going to be worth more than the item!:(

Yeah, i use jiffy bags to post things like this, or bubble rap and brown paper, plenty of padding is the key.
i've only had one thing burst.
you charge for p+p, so packaging shouldn't cost YOU anything.
Hope this helps

I keep any bits of bubble wrap and jiffy bags and reuse them for selling, as long as they're still in usable condition. You charge the buyer as Jenni above said, so you will never be out of pocket for selling
Use royal mail's website and a pair of scales to make sure you're charging the right amount, then add another 40p or something on to cover the jiffy bag and your time! 0 -
These are nice and cheap;
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/25-x-Mail-Lite-White-Padded-Mail-Postal-Bags-A-000-Size-/200400502934?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Envelopes_Mailing_Bags&hash=item2ea8cd0096
They would fit make up/little items in but the mail lite padded envelopes go for very cheaply on ebay.
I have sent clothing items in mail bags but not so appropriate for bottles which may need some padding/support.
Ebay is pretty much the cheapest place to buy packaging unless you have poundstores near you. The problem with ebay is you save more the more you buy, like you can buy 100 of the smallest mail lite envelopes for £5.99, but I couldn't ever use them all up, lol.0 -
I recycle bubble wrap, envelopes etc, rather than jiffy bags - if I have to buy bubble wrap, brown paper I always nip to Wilkinsons.
90% of my wrapping is recycled. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
the ebay board (ebay, auctions, car boots and jumble sales) is excellent for anything to do with ebay.
