Dog Walking

our local animal rescue take volunteer dog walkers.
my nephew has his own pet sitting/ dog walking business and is doing fairly well for a start up business.
However he has done it as professionally as he can afford. He has insurance and contracts and pet record systems etc as well as website, dedicated phone number, business cards and usual stuff. he comes up very high on google for our local area. but if you only plan t do it on maternity leave then might be hard as people may be looking for a regular long term commitment.

Ive been looking into this alongside petsitting and there is definatley a market for these services (depending on area in which you live etc.)

I would say insurance is a must, as imagine if a dog in your care got into a road traffic accident for example, im presuming the owners could sue you, if the dog was injured or worse. Also if you would be going into empty houses to collect the dog, you would need the keys, so would really need insurance in case you lost them or damaged the owners house in any way. Also would you be happy to walk very large dogs or very bouncy ones for that matter, as not all dogs will walk nicely on the lead particually with a "stranger."

It seems so simple when you 1st think about it as an idea, but there is actually quite a lot to consider and think about.
