Hmmm... what do people think about these?
I'm talking PitRok, Salt of the Earth, Bionsen.
I'm super paranoid about body odour - do they work?
Do you have any other recommendations?
Stick or spray?

I actually use rock crystal itself (not in a spray etc) - it's basically like a bar of soap (only crystal of course LOL!). It doesn't stop you sweating but it does prevent odour. I confess when it's really mega hot I've needed to re-apply it but then I found that with traditional deoderants too.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

that one you mention didnt work for me. I dont think is 100% natural.
there is one that i have seen in natural houses, which is 100% natural, you can get it on ebay aswell , it is himalayan salt. It is a stone, it couldnt be more natural, it does not trap odour, what it does, it kills the bacteria that produces it.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
I've used rock deodorant (solid block) for years & am very happy with it. I perspire a lot as I have hot flushes day & night. Odour can hang around in clothes so I add soda crystals to my clothes wash to really cut grease and any odour.
Oh, Salt of the Earth, Crystal Spring, I don't really care about the make, they all work for me."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
I use Pitrok (solid not spray) and it works for me. I've tried other crystal stones and they are all pretty much the same.
Don't bother with the new ones from The Body Shop as they are rubbish and I ended up throwing them in the bin after a couple of uses.0 -
I have tried the PitRok, didn't work and infact I think made me smell stronger- I hadn't even broken into a sweat and I could smell I needed a shower!
I like the Bionsen version as it smells fresh and I even get compliments on wearing it. However, it doesn't stop the smell of sweat for me. The Bionsen needs to be reapplied every hour or so as it doesn't stop any sweat so the sweat will continue to mix with the natural bacteria on your skin and so you will smell- putting a body spray/roll on over the top is going to help mask the smell if you are looking to only use natural products.
Have to say the Bodyshop version is similar to the Bionsen- smells lovely but does not stop the sweat smell and needs to be reapplied throughout the day.
The reason we smell when we sweat is down to the bacteria on our skin. Sweat is the bodies way of cooling down- its basicly water. It mixes with whats on the skin and you smell. However, if you eat lots of spicy or hot foods, garlic or lots of dairy, its well known that this can make you smell stronger- I am not sure if this is due to additions to whats on the skin or whats in the bodily fluids.
Personally? I go to the gym alot, I'm too worried not to wear a deoderant and even then I still feel the need to reapply after about an hour. I tend to wear things like Sure which work a little (but no measure on the gym really) but the main thing is they smell very much stronger and seem to cling to the skin more so where as 20 mins after use the naturally scented versions are no longer on my skin (I have sweatted them off or they just fade during this time) but versions like Sure seem to have some residue on my skin and still have some scent left. I wish I could find a natural version which works as I do worry about the additional chemicals in non natural versions but so far no go.
Sure Maximum Protection is so far the best I have found.0 -
I have a himalayan salt one bought from ebay and a pitrok spray i used both of them in winter and found them good. i had forgotten about them so must get them out to see how good they are in this weather. I put them away as i had some different ones to trial. I also have a body shop one and i like it works great for me and i have been using it the last few weeks in this hot weather and its been fine DD also has the body shop one and dosnt like it.0

I use Bionsen (roll-on) and works very well for me.
I don't sweat much, but it is the best I have found so far and I stick to it. Only when extrenmely hot and humid I need to re-apply, but I find this is more due to the fabric of whatever I am wearing that the effectiveness of the deodorant...
I would give it a go- you also have it in rock version and spray.0 -
Pitrock works for me, throughout the year, even when crammed onto the sweaty Tube. (I was stuck in a pretty airless tunnel on one of those v. hot days recently for 30mins+ and was fine, no whiff, standing not sitting). I use an exfoliating glove on my pits regularly as Pitrok can build up and also keep as them hairless as possible.0

I like Pitrok spray. I have used this for years and works for me. Bionsen makes me break out in a rash.0

Himalayan rock salt works for me. I've been using it for around five years and nobody has ever told me I stink!"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
