Should use bleach with hot or cold water?

Should you use bleach with hot or cold water? I use it with hot for cleaning, but I'm sure I saw somewhere that you should only use it with cold water.

If you use it with hot water it liberates a lot of toxic fumes. So you want to do it only in your washing machine or outdoors. That's why so many people stick to cold water.

Boy do I feel smug!! I always use bleach for my white and pastal laundry - so no colds at Chez MATH this winter eh?

Bleach cannot be made inefective by using hot water because I have been adding it to my white washes for years, I attempted to stop using bleach a few years ago and could tell the difference within a few washes, tea and coffee stains and other grot left behind. The water is as hot as my cylinder heats it (about 60 c) and I pour the bleach straight in after the first few minutes agitation and leave it for the rest of the wash.

Two things I have noticed when using bleach in the wash is that I need to add and extra rinse but then my machines regular rinse cycle is one full rinse and a spray while spinning which isn't much by European standards and I need to keep the washer lid closed because the smell of bleach does travel when in hot water.

I use bleach in hot water on my kitchen floor. It dries quicker than in cold. Works OK for me but I only use a littleish bit.
