Hi,

I'm looking for companies that offer a single loan ( i.e not joint applicants) but will take my partners income into consideration. So far i have come up with Directline. Anybody know of any other companies who offer this ?.

Thanks.

  • northern rock do as thats what they done for me, though this was 3yrs ago but i doubt its changed. BUT.....refuse their PPI as the cost is stupid and getting rid of it is proving impossible. your best bet in my opinion would be to just call around and ask. sorry i can't be more helpfull.

Why can't you apply in joint names?

  • I'd still avoid this even if they could - you would soley and personally be responsible for something you could not afford to repay

Can't apply in joint names as my partner cannot have any credit for the next 5 years.

In a bit of a catch 22 situation. We have/need 2 vehicles both of which currently require major money spending on them (£1500+). These vehicles when working normally cost loads to run e.g 30 mpg group 14 insurance etc. If I can borrow 5-6k then we can easily save £80 a month in running costs by picking up a couple of small diesels ( current vehicles worth about £2000 p/ex ) which would then last us for a good few years.
