Wedding Center Piece ideas

Hi
I recently got a bargain on ebay for some glass vases that I want to use for my centre pieces, I was thinking putting some crystals in the bottom but then I wasn't sure what else to do. There are quite wide at the top. Here is the link to the auction which also has the measurements. Does anyone have any ideas?

i tall ish candle? seen them in B&Ms recently really cheap-compared to online! i was trying to tink of a way of usin them haha
or when i was lookin at centrepieces my fave one was a 2 in 1 idea-fill with sweets like people do for a canyd buffet but its popular to have them as centres fill up put a scoop in, sign in front letting people know they can help themselves and give each guest a cute bag or box! i love this idea but couldnt find the right vases!Marrying the love of my life May19th 2012

They are great! Maybe some floating candles?
Chocolat money would be quite fun depending on the colour scheme?0 -
I was thinking about candles, but I was worried about the heat against the glass and also about where the wax would drip. My colour scheme is baby pink0

I think floating candles would be lovely, with the water on top of the crystals or glass stones. You could probably get two or three in each vase (hard to tell how big the top of the vase is). Then you don't have to worry about wax dripping.
We had floating candles in our centre-pieces, on top of a submerged rose:

Just found this with a google image search which has some really cute flower shaped floating candles:

I'm sure the glass will be fine with the heat. You could test them beforehand - leave some candles burning in them for a few hours to make sure you don't get scorch marks on them...
EDIT: You might think hearts are a bit tacky but I just found these

Or, these are expensive but large so you'd only need one per table...

I had a vase until the H2B broke it that I used in the bathroom with floating candles - you don't have to light them if you don't want! You can buy false flame ones now that have batteries in! Sealed units that can be floated - not sure where I saw them though!
Rose petals is something else I have seen!0 -

Thank you for helping I do like the heart floating candles, it is different from the normal circle ones.
Ok one question are silk flowers waterproof, I would like to submerge a couple but don't want to ruin them0 -
If you don't end up using floating candles, you could use normal candles and part fill the vase with sand (you can even buy coloured sand). This would also stop any dripping wax from coating the glass.2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0

Hum.. that seems like a good idea too. Oh I am so confused what to do. I am so ahead of myself anyway as I am not getting married until April 2012 lol0 -
I'd just have fresh flowers in them myself.
Bought from a market or supermarket, you could get a load for £50!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
