hiding neighbour's nasty hedge
My friend recently bought a house and is working on sorting out the garden. On one side there is the remains of a hedge, for which her next door neighbours are responsible, but it has been long neglected and is dying and full of weeds. The neighbours aren't interested in sorting it out, - has anyone got ideas as to what she could plant on her side to disguise the ugly hedge?

If the hedge is dead regardless if it's the friend's fence or not they should rip the fence up/cut the hedge back and replace it with one of their own.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I had this problem with my neighbours-my garden has three gardens which border mine (I'm semi detached at the end of a road) and the only thing that was missing from the forest emerging from one garden was catweasel!
A huge bush was taking over my garden coming from their side so I just went crazy with a chain saw and fenced the whole lot off.
when the bushes start to get ambitious I am ready armed with my shears and back it goes. As summer ends I will put up some trellis and plan on planting some climbing rose bushes so I don't have to put up with the amazon rain forest spoiling my view. There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -
This may also be a cheap fix (certainly cheaper than a fence) and looks effective too I think
