Hi Shoes thanks for the message,

Yes, as soon as a card is cleared I close the account. So I now have just a couple with low balances on at 0%. Once they've gone I'll close them. I may keep just one card at home for emergencies - not sure yet. Alternatively I may just use it for internet purchases and pay it off instantly, I can't decide.

I think I can overpay on the loan- I need to look into it. At the moment I am saving up a bit of a lump sum, so if I don't use it on my maternity I'll throw that at it.

All of it is going in the right direction anyway, it jus seems a very slow process!

    Hi wolveslass

Well done for getting back on the board. The only way is down now!!! :):):)::)

I really think you should get rid of all cards. Use a debit card and buy only what you have the money in the bank to pay for. Hope this is of help to you and I truly wish you well.

Congratulations on your new baby and keep padding along.

    Take care

Well I've had a good few days, been doing small PADs onto my lowest debt, as I've decide to try to get this one completely clear just to tidy up my mind! It's on 0% like my other, but I thought it might be nice to clear one completely.

I have also sold some DVDs and CDs through musicmagpie. I always feek a bit cheated at the 30p each you get, but then I never listen to them/watch them and a good declutter also helps clear my mind.

Also put one thing on ebay, but I'm struggling a bit to find suitable things to list. We moved house 2 years ago and I got rid of loads of stuff to charity shops then and don't seem to have anything of much worth left.

I am also doing surveys as soon as they drop in my inbox, otherwise I struggle to keep up with them. I'm currently building up a few pounds a day on this, nothing huge but every little bit helps.

Saw someone on one of the threads on about doing matched betting. Has anyone tried this? Is it worth a go?

Looked into the matched betting but I'm not ready for that yet.

I'm doing quite well in my quest to earn £5 a day in Oct and every couple of days I pay a few more pounds off my smallest debt. I want it gone by February, which is the end of the 0%.

My surveys seem to be doing quite well now, I'm trying hard to keep up to date with them because otherwise I dealy them and then the time runs out on them. Does anyone know of any daily click earners?

  • Be careful with the matched betting. It is free money but you MUST know how to do it & be patient awaiting winnings back to your bank account. Plus you simply MUST NOT start actually gambling.

  • Thanks wot-a-mess,

I've come to the conclusion that it all sounds a bit complex at the moment. So don't worry I'm steering well clear!

  • I'm still ploding along with the make £5 a day in October challenge - another small £1.15 today - not much but it all helps.

I've also emptied my sealed pot - it wasn't full but I wanted to use it to pay some debts. So that's another £91.:T

The odds and sods left over went back in. I know I'm getting frugal because the pot is a terramundi, but rather than smash it I spent ages getting the cash out with a knife! Maybe that's just tight!

It's amazing how my thought processes have changed, because now I look forward to my credit card bill because then I can make a payment and watch the totals drop.

  • So a couple of items due to end on ebay tonight and tomorrow, I'm sure it won't make masses but a bit more to add to the debts. I'm also awaiting some payments from music magpie, global test market, pure profile and panelbase - so that will be productive. I've also made a small payment into zopa, only £20 to see how it goes, even a little bit of interest would help, but don't want to risk too much.
