Really need a cheap laptop as Im starting university this september!
Dont really want to spend much over £450 but dont know what Im meant to be looking for or what's good for the money I am spending?
Also unsure whether to go for a reputable brand like Dell, HP etc or go for a lesser known one?
Any help or explanations would be really appreciated
Thanks

Depends what you want on a computer really; things like plenty of hard drive storage space, bluetooth, long battery life, webcam.
This one's got a 13.3'' screen, bluetooth, a decent batterry life but no dvd writer. £386 delivered from Argos.

This has a big hard drive, dvd writer, 15.6'' screen but no bluetooth and a relatively poor battery life. £400 delivered from Ebuyer.

I made a couple of enquiries on AVForums and asked about a few laptop recommendations. One of them was the Toshiba L500-1XC. John Lewis were selling these for £399.95 but have now sold out though you can pick one up from Argos at the moment for a few pence more £399.99.0

Awwww my head hurts from reading all the forums about laptops!
If anyone can help- I am looking for a laptop primarily for uploading and editing photos (and storing them- so i guess I need one with lots of memory?), and accessing the internet (so would like something that runs the internet quickly and safely).
I don't want to spend a fortune, but do want something decent....
Can anyone suggest anything? I've been looking for ages and am frankly just getting more and more baffled! Far, far too much choice when it comes to laptops :-p

I made an enquiry on AVForums when looking for a laptop for my brother. Might be worth a try as they were very helpful.0
