Natwest Overdraft

Hi everyone,
Just a bit of advice really. After a really bad patch I ended up with a £1600 overdraft limit with Natwest, which was maxed. I switched banks in the nic of time, but still have £1374 left on this overdraft, which I am paying £50 a month to try and clear. As you can imagine this is taking some time to do.
I am lucky enought to be coming into around £900 and my question is, would Natwest negotiate a full settlement for the lower figure and have my account shut down, or would they not budge on the full amount having to be paid?
I have never done anything like this before so I'm not really sure if it's possible or how to go about it. Any advice is greatly received!

Hi Big Mac, you could always request a settlement figure and see what they come back with, then take it from there. Just because you ask doesn't mean you have to pay it, if its not what you can afford.0
