Divorce and personal compensation

Hello all,
My parents are getting divorced through my mothers infidelity, but my father has asked me to try and find out a couple of things.
My mother has stated that she fully intends to take him for half of the house, yet 50% of this was purchased as a lump sum from compensation from a RTA. Does this have an affect on the capital that will be split.

Secondly I currently live at home with my parents as a single dad of two (I have a residency order to that effect) how will this have a bearing.

I know this isnt strictly a DFW topic, but as you can appreciate things could skew my DF plans depending on the out comes. I am just trying to plan ahead.
Thanks for your heads up.

Think this one needs the expertise of a legal bod or maybe contact CAB. Had thought the situation was being handled diplomatically but obviously things have taken a turn for the worse. Hope you manage to find an answer and also have a happier result. Billie x

Hi down, yes I agree with Billie, you really need legal advice on this, as divorce law can be a minefield.

Yes I will direct him to the law firms, but for now I was just putting out tentative enquirers, and to try and find out what sort of questions to be asking. Thank you for your replies.

You could try asking on the relationships board on here. Sorry I'm not much use.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
