Free ways to sell my car

Options
Hi all,

I'm trying to sell my car at the moment using the most effective, but free methods to advertise it.

So far, it's advertised on these websites: Gumtree (London) and Pistonheads. I've also got a sign in my car window and have placed a couple of cards in local outlets.

The price I'm asking is virtually bang on Parkers guide price (slightly more, but it's great condition with a few extras). I'm hardly inundated with interest at the moment though...

I wondered if any of you could share your thoughts or experiences of successful private sales and let me know which free websites or methods of advertising worked for you?

Many thanks!
Tom :)

what kind of car is it and what price? certain cars (ie.. 7 year+ or older family cars arent good at the moment)

small cars like corsas and clios always sell dead quickly and theres always a high demand.

parkers guide price may still be too high in this economic climate where people are hesitant to shell out their money
2 esa medicals passed successfully (support group - it can be done!!)!! :j

Check out autotrader.co.uk to see what your car is currently going for.

Try parking it (legally), on the side of a road, or a grass verge etc, which is on a busy road, with a big for sale sign. A lot more people will see it this way, rather than it being parked outside your house or at work.

I'm afraid if it doesn't sell it's too expensive. Applies to everything, something is only worth what you can sell it for not what you wish it was worth.
