Hi all,
Had a recent change in cicumstances (no longer have childcare costs from tomorrow :j ) Rang tax credits to inform them, but this week they have paid me my usual amount (as expected) and the next day another payment, which isn't the new amount, nor a duplicate of the old amount, but £6 less than the old amount. Not sure how they've done this, also when will they claim it back, can I get them to take it back right now, or will they start plaing around with reductions over the rest of the year? Confused as I am desperately trying to get out of debt and would rather my finances stayed simple!
Thanks in advance,
Lil'H

Phone them and find out on Monday. If you have to pay one of the amounts back then do it, at least you won't get into debt and you willl have piece of mind over the situation.0

Tax credits always do this when you report a change in circumstances. You will get 2 payment in one week then from the following week you will start getting a regular amount again.
You won't have to pay them anything back. Unfortunately they always seem to give you the payments before they send a letter explaining what the payments are for, leaving people confused!!0 -
Thanks guys,
rang today, they said I am entitled to the money and a letter was sent on 5the explaining. It's not here yet, but will triple check it when it arrives, not counting it as definately my money just yet!
