There is rather an obvious solution to the problem. Swap with someone that wants to do lates permanently. There is no business reason to force someone to alternate shifts in such a manner and everyone knows that irregular hours lead to problems with performance. There is no business case for refusing such a thing, other than they're being bloody minded and dictatorial for the sake of it. There's bound to be someone that doesn't like doing the early shift every other week0

But as I've said the late shifts are no good for me? They make me even more tired, and I spend extra time waiting for buses etc. Plus my Fiance' leaves at 8am every morning and so I'm already awake by then regardless of whether or not I'm on a late, so the day would be unbelievably hard for me doing lates all the time.0 -

Teabelly was suggesting you swapped all your lates with someone that wanted to do lates and took all their earlysThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Yes. I was suggesting you did permanent earlies and the person you swapped with did permanent lates. I can't see how management could object to this arrangement.0

Ahhh, sorry. I read that completly wrong..sorry!
I've tried that in the past, but everyone loves earlies in the company, as lates are so so busy that it really effects your stats, and your targets etc...so overall people who have done lates for a month have found that their stats are drastically lower than everyone elses, so unfortunatly no one would want to swap.
But thanks very much for the suggestion anyway...sorry I was a little backwards with my reply!0
