Hello, I have received a letter from CCSCOLLECT today telling me that they are going to come to my home in the next 72 housrs to either obtain payment or investigate my home.
This is all about a car parking ticket that I received. I went online and followed everyones advice and ignored it.....and the several letters afterwards!
What do I do now. I am scared out of my wits!
Please help

Take the letter any details of any other debts you have to your local CAB ASAP.
If it's just a debt collector then don't worry as they have no rights whatsoever. Investigate your home sounds like a scare tactic. They have no rights to enter, seize possessions or anything like that.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Firstly they have no authority to "investigate your home" secondly I would be surprised if they actually turn up. Someone will be along shortly to advise better.TOTAL AT START £13606.90 27/03/2018
TOTAL CURRENT £13445.90 29/03/20180 -
no it does not say that they are bailifs....just me running scared!
This is the exact wording..
Despite our previous correspondence your account remains unpaid. Our client has instructed us to recover the full amount that you owe.
We are now making arrangements for one of our collectors to visit you at home. The purpose of this visit is to:
Obtain payment or agree a payment arrangement with you
Investigate your home situation prior to recommending Court Action
You can avoid our collector visiting you by:
MAKING PAYMENT TO THIS OFFICE BY RETURN OF POST
TELEPHONING THIS OFFICE IMMEDIATELY
It is in your own interests to deal with this now. Your account will not be overlooked or forgotten and we intend to resolve this matter to our client's sastisfaction.0 -
Well they might not turn up - but anyway I would suggest you send this letter to them recorded delivery today -
Threat of Doorstep-Visit
If they turn up, just tell them to leave. They have no legal rights to visit you at home. If they refused to leave you could call the police.
That said without knowing more details of the reason for the debt/car park ticket I would suggest you either need to arrange repayment or write to them explaining why you believe you do not owe the money.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
they will not send anyone its a common scare tactic and if they did on this odd occasion send someone they will not have any rights to enter your home and they can do nothing but prey on your insecurties .

thank you for your reassurance.
The whole thing started with a parking charge notice from G24. The whole thing looked a bit 'funny' so I checked the company out on the internet and everyone said to ignore them because they were a bit 'dodgy'.
So I ignored them and here we are!0 -
If it's not a council or the police then they can't enforce it. I don't think ignoring them was the right thing to do, you should have just written and told them to do one. It might be worth doing that now.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

I've just had the same letter. There are other posts in this forum that describe the tactics of G24 and their tame debt collection agency - CCSCollect, so I won't repeat them here, except to say that the advice on all the other forums is that:
1) they have no powers to fine you or enter your property
2) they give up after this letter
My wife is concerned though, about them even turning up. She is considering paying just to avoid the hassle. Has anyone ever had a visit?0 -
I got a car parking ticket 3 years ago from a company called Excel along with a picture of my car (supposedly to prove I was there). They said I was in Sheffield when I knew I was nowhere near there at the time stated (Christmas Eve).
I followed advice and ignored it and about a month later a second letter came which I also ignored.
A month or so later I got another from their 'collection agency' saying they were going to take me to court so I finally replied and said I would be pleased to meet them in court.
I have had two more letters since then, each saying if it was not paid within x days, they would take me to court - I have ignored all of them and haven't heard anything in the last 6 months or so.
I don't know the ins and outs of your ticket of course, and in my case I KNOW I wasn't where they said I was (goodness knows where they got the picture) but I would say they are trying to scare you and probably won't turn up.
Try Googling the company - I did and found out that Excel Parking are notorious for their threats.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
