I found this solution for losing weight

I am a 59 year old male that has always been and still is fairly active and my weight has never been an issue for me until recently so I thought I would briefly share the solution that I found to my problem.

In March 2009, I retired from my job and started a small business working from home and that is where the problem started. I am 5’10” tall and have always weighed around 12 stone however since then the weight started to pile on and 3 months ago, I crept up to over 14 stone. My wife put the problem down to the fact that I am too close to the fridge and food cupboards. It seems that I had started snacking without thinking about it. The real wake up call came when I came home from Matalan with a 38” waist pair of jeans, I have bought 34” for as long as I can remember.

I tried to stop eating between meals but because I was thinking about it, the problem actually got worse and I started eating more. Anyway, to cut a long story short, a friend of my wife suggested I tried hypnotherapy. I did some research and was surprised to find that one session of hypnosis was anything between £100 and £200. Because I was sceptical to start with I decided that I didn’t want to spend that kind of money on something I was convinced wouldn’t work.

I then discovered that you can buy hypnosis sessions on Cd. There are lots of different ones produced but I went for mine because the description said it was a female voice with an English accent. There are CDs and downloads available for lots of different issues, I went for the Lose Weight CD for £10 which was a lot better than £200 for the sessions.

I am now a month on and I am pleased to say I have already lost 7 pounds and the 38" jeans are falling off me. I won’t try to explain how it works, that is on the website but I can now walk past the fridge without thinking about it. I still eat the same meals but half the quantity of snacks.

I am so grateful I thought I should share this, take a look.

  • I found this website through You Tube. I got the CD for relaxation and stress and I can vouch for this lady, her voice is so soothing.

There is a book with a 'self hypnosis' CD that had a great many people posting on here: 'I Can Make You Thin' by Paul McKenna seemed popular with others on the forum.

Good for you OP for realising you needed to change- I have a father who at your age decided they had redesigned clothes not to fit him and actually he had lost weight from his 11 stone at 30yrs old. Infact his problem is more likely to be his entire Quiche, Pizza and seemingly instininct lead ideology to consume double portions of all his deserts (eg two yougurts or two ice creams..etc).
My mother (his ex) is a weight watchers leader and has been for several years and has guessed his current weight at around 17-18 stone. Wish he would wake up and start eating properly!

Just on a random quest here- does anyone have any tips on getting him to wake up and smell the coffee? so far I have tried buying him a tape measure- he told me it was a trick tape measure and refused to believe it was genuine. (I bought it from Tesco in front of him). Sending him Red Cross Heart packs, giving him booklets on diabeties, refusing to ever meet with him if he wants to eat (mainly as its quite embarassing but also as I am unable to sit watching him eat so much without waying anything). I tried to discuss calorie intake with him. He says he "doesn't eat all day". Currently the washing machine is shrinking his clothing....I am just aware he is heading to one massive heart attack and theres no stopping it. Its gotten to the point now where whatever I say is met with sniggering and sarcasm.

Interesting. I'm trying to lose weight yet again (sigh!) having lost about 20lb over the winter last year and put about 7lb of them back on again during the summer :( Still got at least another 20lb to go (probably 30 if I'm being honest) this might be just the thing. Thanks OP and good luck with your weight loss.

    Jennie,
I think what has kept me on the ball is following the lifestyle of my Dad. He is now 86 and although diabetic, he has never carried even a pound overweight. Apart from when I was a lot younger, I never drank alcohol to excess and only smoked for a few years of my life.
