Getting biro pen marks off a leather bag?

I know there's probably a thread somewhere but I can't find it! My DS kindly covered himself in a leaky biro pen then put his messy mitts on my (much treasured, pre-OS) expensive leather bag. I've tried wiping with baby wipes but the marks won't budge - they're well dried on now :( any ideas on what might shift them please? TIA

    Hi babychick,

Try hairspray. I've seen it recommended a lot for removing pen from leather.

The advice on these threads may help:

I'll add your post to the last link later to keep the replies together. Please come back and let us know what worked for you.

try aftershave - my friend had the same problem with biro on a cream leather couch and it took it out.

We used aftershave recently after our newly laid Karndean wood strip floor was dyed with a bright pink loveheart - from a post it pad :eek: and it took most of the ink out - only a faint heart now - which I can live with :T:T:T
