PWC - phone call from CSA today... ideas?

hi

I wonder if anyone has any ideas on this one. My ex walked out of his job about 3 years ago so the DEO ended and his next work was CIH. CSA have been trying ever since. About 12 months ago I informed them that his house was for sale and he had a fair bit of equity.

I got a phone call today off CSA to tell me that he is not registered as the proprietor to the property and it's in the name of Grubber Grattett! (solicitors) Last I knew he was still living there but that was a couple of months ago.

The house is not showing up under rightmove (S STC) or under ourproperty (though I know it could take a while to show here).

Can anybody shed any thoughts on this. If it was a repro wouldn't it be in the hands of the BSociety? I am thinking repro as he was only working a couple of days a week for cash and didnt sign on for benefits. And do they reposess if there is equity in the property. It wouldn't surprise me as he's walked away in the past from a house - 20 years ago.

Thanks for any ideas; am just in total shock at being told he doesn't own this house!!

Have you discussed this with your ex? If so, what was his response? If not, why not?
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

My ex hasn't spoke to me for 2.5 years! He phoned DS2 and told him his new gf doesn't like him having kids (1.5 yrs ago). He's since changed his mobile number. Not seen kids for 2 years

I only knew he was living there recently as his brother mentioned it.

they'd have to obtain a liability order, go through the motions of bailiffs etc and then go for a charging order which could take them years.

i'm guessing the property would have been sold by then anyway. also, if he's not officially working, then he'd be on a nil assessment so there'd be no arrears to warrant a LO application.

and yes, they wil repossess if there is equity . if he's defaulted on payments then they will plough on with it. in fact, the're more likely to apply for a repossession order if there IS equity in the house, as it's gauranteed the loan will be repaid in full.
NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.

and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.

thanks, got a feeling this may have happened! He just walked out of his last house and took keys back to building society and I know he'd think nothing of not paying mortgage until he was kicked out. Am sure I'll find out eventually via family but he keeps himself to himself - me and kids see more of his family.

Check the situation on the Land Registry - it costs £4 on-line.
